BIOGRAPHY
Mohamed Abumeis was born in Tripoli – Libya 1970, arrived to Australia 2009, and has lived and worked in Tripoli. He travelled, lived and studied in UK, the USA, and Australia. He has been exhibiting for about twenty years in Libya, UK, Italy, Egypt, Algeria, Tunisia, German, France, USA, and Australia. As transnational artist, he has made the transition from national to international artist and his artworks have been collected in a number of countries. His work is in the collection of the Islamic Museum of Australia (IMA) Melbourne – Australia (2014).
He has taught at the Faculty of Fine Arts – Tripoli (Al-Fateh) University, Libya, teaching painting and drawing to the primary and advanced semesters, among which: Composition - Free hand drawing – Life drawing and Life painting (Portrait & Models) – Landscape – oil painting – Advanced oil painting –Materials technique – and supervision of student projects.
